Sir Topham Hatt is in charge of the railways on the island of Sodor. He does a great job of managing Thomas and his friends and helping them all to be very useful engines. Your Thomas the Tank Engine Party guests will have fun playing this train-inspired version of "Simon Says". Successful birthday parties have a theme to tie them together. You have the cake, decorations and favors so all you need to do now is play a party game based on the popular Thomas the Tank Engine series and your event will be sure to leave the station. All aboard for fun!!
How To Play:
- The birthday child can start this game by being Sir Topham Hatt while the others can pretend to be Thomas, Percy, or another favorite character. You may want to give the guest who is in the role of Topham Hatt a top hat and give each of the "little engines" the number of there favorite train - just write the number on a white plate with black marker.
- Only when the child who is Topham Hatt shouts "Sir Topham Hatt" before the instruction, do the children follow the command. If they don't hear "Sir Topham Hatt," no one should move. (For example, if the leader says 'Sir Topham Hatt says wave your arms," the players wave their arms. If the leader says, 'Wave your arms," players should stay still.)
- If a child moves when 'Sir Topham Hatt" was not said, that child is out for the remainder of the round. The last child left standing is the winner for that round.
- Continue playing rounds as long as desired. Award each winner a prize or give each guest a participation prize just for having fun!
