No Glue Duck Masks

No Glue Duck Masks

What You'll Need:

  • 7-inch round yellow and orange cake plates
  • A black permanent marker
  • A stapler
  • Scissors
  • Elastic string
  • A hole punch

To assemble the ducky mask, you will need one yellow paper plate and one orange paper plate. The yellow plate is the head and the orange plate is the beak.
  1. Fold the orange paper plate in half so that the color is on the outside.
  2. Staple the folded orange plate (the beak) to the colored side of the yellow paper plate. You should place the beak halfway down the duck's face. You should only staple once on the top left side of the beak and once on the top right side of the beak.
  3. Now that the beak is stapled on, it looks a little flat. Pull open the top half of the beak slightly and use your fingers to puff it up. The goal is to achieve a slightly open beak.
  4. Using a black permanent marker, draw two big eyes right above the beak.
  5. In the middle of each eye, poke a large hole. The holes should be big enough for the children to see through.
  6. Cut a 12-inch piece of yellow streamer and fold it back and forth in 2-inch segments.
  7. Staple the folded streamer to the top of the ducky's head to create its hair.
  8. Punch one hole on each side of the mask right above where the beak is stapled.
  9. Tie one end of a 12-inch piece of elastic string to one hole and the other end of the string to the other hole.
  10. Your ducky mask is now ready to wear.
