Let’s glow crazy! Get your shine on and throw a fabulous glow in the dark themed party with these bright ideas!

There's something sort of magical about things that glow in the dark and your facination with all things neon and glowing can be fully embraced with these bright ideas. If you child is ready to have their first sleep over party, then this might be the perfect theme, but this glowing look will outlast their younger years and makes a great theme even for the young adults out there! You might want to make a few adjustments to the details, but read on to shine a little light on your party planning.

Glow in the Dark Party Invitations

Let your guests know they can expect to light up the night with invitations that look like they really are glowing. If you’re hand delivering the invites include a glow stick bracelet just for fun.

Glow in the Dark  Party Decorations

Create the ultimate glowing backdrop with black plastic table covers and neon paint.  Splatter paint across the table covers, turn on the black light, and watch the room glow!

No glow party would be complete without glow sticks! Use glow sticks as table decorations, garlands, and jewelry. To make a glow stick garland string glow bracelets together to make one long chain. Attach to your table with large glue dots or painter's tape.

Set the table aglow with neon tableware that shine in the glow of the black light, but we recommend turning the lights on when it's time to chow down to avoid and fumbling and spilling!

Glow in the Dark  Party Food

Kids love to snack at parties so keep it simple with finger sandwiches, veggie sticks and ranch, chips, and of course….glowing Jell-O! TIP: When preparing your Jell-O, use tonic water in place of regular water. We found that green Jell-O glows better than other colors. Set your tray near a black light and listen to your guests ooohh and aaahh!

Having candy on hand is always a hit with kids and teens so set out bowls of candy in colors that match the party theme. Jelly beans and Sixlets come in a large variety of colors including turquoise, lime green, yellow, and pink which coordinate perfectly with the neon glow plates and cups.

Glow in the Dark  Party Activities

Nothing lends itself to a dance off quite like a neon glow party so keep it simple by turning on the black lights, crank the music, and let your guests get down with their glowing selves. Let everyone grab a few glow sticks and put on glow-in-the-dark jewelry and glasses before showing off their Fortnite dance moves!

A fun group activity is to set up a “graffiti” wall. Cover a wall, garage door, or fence in black butcher paper and let your guests paint to their hearts content with neon paints. Don’t forget to tape down a drop cloth so you don’t end up with paint all over the place. Set up a large black light nearby (but out of reach from the revelers) so the paint can really glow.
