Comments about Birthday in a Box Train Party:

My four year old wanted a train themed party but did not want Thomas. Everything you find in the stores is Thomas related. These were the PERFECT plates. Not only is it a train, but it is a steam engine (his favorite). The colors were perfect to match with a fun theme and train birthday cake.

    Train Party!

My party was a huge sucess! My twins turned one and had roughly 60 poeple attending. We rented a trackless trains for the kids that went down our street so I turned our driveway into the railraod crossing. Using duct tape I made a railraod down the drive and made railroad signs using poster board and stakes. In the backyard I had a few differnt stations set up for the kids. Our younger guests ranged from age 11 months-7 years. I had a water/sand table setup, lego table, and a playdough with toy trains and also blew up a few beach balls and tossed outin the yard. The goody bags were a cinch. I used brown lunch bags, bought a 12 pack of bandanas and made my own tags to attach to the bags. Inside were train whistles with the kids names written on them with a paint pen, pack of goldfish, tootsie pop and bubbles from the dollar store that I replaced the wrapping with ones I made myself. We had oour party from 10-12 to try and beat the afternoon heat so we served various muffins, fruit, juice, milk, coffee and sodas.

Comments about Birthday in a Box Train Party:

We just got through celebrating my son's 3rd birthday! He wanted a "choo choo" party and it wouldn't have been the same without BIRTHDAY in a BOX! We had everything choo choo and it was adorable. I made a train track out of butcher block paper and had it leading to the front door, on top of the side walk. The front door and porch were decorated in railroad signs, balloons and streamers. I carried over the train track idea, from outside, and had them going down the middle of the dining tables and put some trains(I bought and painted from the craft store)on top of the tracks. I had all my sons trains brought out, from his room, and put on top of play tables so the children could play with them throughout the party. I had a jump-a-roo outside, but with it being over 90 degrees, we kept the party indoors and cool! A long with several other colored coordinated snacks, I made rice krispie treats and cut them out with a train shaped cookie cutter. The childrens drank from little red caboose shaped plastic lidded cups with straws. Shortly after the the children arrived and the party officially started, the children were pleasently surprised when they heard a loud horn/whistle coming from outside. When I openend the front door, there was a trackless train I had rented at the end of the walkway(the train track), waiting for its passengers to board! I had plenty of food and other activities to keep the children busy, but all they wanted to do was ride the train around the neighborhood(for 2 hours)! My son had the time of his life and that is all that really matters!

I used the train favor boxes as lunch boxes and the children (and adults) really liked them. They are sturdy enough that I saved them and will use them again.
