Dear Michael,
It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas here at the North Pole. Yesterday the elves sang "Deck the Halls" as they decorated our enormous Christmas tree with names of all the good little boys and girls. Michael, you’ll be happy to know that your name is on the tree this year!
I wish you could see how beautiful the North Pole looks at night with all of the twinkling lights. The elves love bright lights, so they strung them on everything in sight. They even decorated Comet’s antlers while he was asleep last night! It won’t be very long until I can see all of the beautiful decorations at your home, Michael!
The elves also have been busy in their workshop making toys. Every toy is fun-tested by the elves to make sure children will love playing with their gifts on Christmas morning! The elves always want to work in the toy-testing room. It’s my favorite part of the workshop, too. Michael, I want you to know that I watched the elves test one of your presents today, and I know you’ll love it!
The reindeer and I are still getting ready for our big trip around the world. Every day the reindeer practice their rooftop takeoffs and landings. They still need to get a little faster, but I’m sure they’ll be ready before Christmas. Rudolph and I are almost finished mapping our Christmas Eve route, and he says that Maryland will be one of our first stops!
There is still much work to do here, so I must say goodbye. Remember to go to bed early on Christmas Eve, Michael, so you’ll be sound asleep when I arrive in Maryland!
Love,
Santa
