Bertie Bott's Bean Contest

What You'll Need:

Jelly Belly Brand Jelly Beans
Small Paper Cups
A Marker
Paper
Pens or Pencils

Preparation:

Divide the jelly beans by flavor, and put the groups of flavors into separate paper cups. Use a heavy black marker to number the cups, and record the corresponding numbers and flavors on a sheet of paper to refer to later.

At the Party:

Hand each child a pen or pencil and a sheet of paper. Have the children write down the cups' numbers in a column on their sheets of paper. Then, let your guests take turns tasting the beans in each cup and writing down their guesses for each type of jelly bean. Once everyone has recorded an answer for a cup, reveal the jelly bean flavor it contains. Award a prize to the child or children with the most correct guesses at the end of the activity. For added fun, make the prizes small bags of jelly beans!
