Workmen's Relay Race

Preparation:

Divide the children into teams and provide each team with an empty tool belt. Place child-safe tools, such as a hammer, screwdriver, wrench, gloves, hard hat, etc., a fair distance from the start of the race.
Basic Rules:

• After you say “go,” the first player of each team should put on the tool belt, run to the tools, and fill the belt.
  
• After the player has filled his belt, he or she should run to the other side and pass the full tool belt to the next player.
  
• That player should put on the tool belt, race to the other side, empty it, and run to the other side to return the empty belt to the next player.
  
• The game continues until all of the players have had a turn. The first team to finish the race wins the game.
