What would an action or adventure costume be without the right tools for the job? Prop weapon accessories make for a fun and exciting way to complete your outfit. Toy weapons come in all shapes and sizes and are fit to do certain tasks. A superhero needs different weapons than a pirate or samurai. Weapons have many uses. They can protect or attack, but most of all they can look really awesome when added to an action ensemble!
Weapons have changed and evolved over time. For a historic outfit, pick out a weapon from that time. Roman gladiators can make use of a sword and shield. Native Americans and medieval warriors might use a bow and arrow. Barbarians or cavemen ensembles can be paired with spears and slingshots. If you are going for a more futuristic look from a show like Star Trek or Star Wars, look for space age weapons like lightsabers, blaster guns or phasers.
Some weapons change depending on culture. In the Old West, pistols and muskets are weapons of choice. Ninjas and samurai outfits can make a great match for Asian-inspired weaponry like katanas, daggers, and nunchucks.
